Friends for Life
Friends for Life is a non-profit charity supporting young adults on
their journey with cancer.
Our charity is not about research or finding a cure...
It is about giving support to young adults with cancer, as well as to their friends and famiy.
Friends for Life has mini grants of up to $1000 available. To apply for these, all we want to know is your experience with young adults with cancer and how you would use the money.
We are looking for young people aged 18 - 40 who have had experiences with young adult cancer - you may be a patient, a survivor, a brother or sister, a family member or a friend.
And we want to know what worthwhile way you would use up to $1000.
To apply, simply email your application to info_friendsforlifeorg.au or follow the links.
Stay tuned for your opportunity to purchase a ticket to the Friends for Life Melbourne Cup Marquee.
Ticket price includes entry to our marquee in the Nursery at Flemington racecourse, all beverages and food and a donation to Friends for Life.
This is popular and will sell out!

'THROUGH MY EYES'
'Through My Eyes' is a publication currently being developed by Friends for Life. The book has detailed experiences of young adults living with cancer.
The development and printing of this booklet has been made possible by a grant from Myer Launceston and the Myer Community Fund. Friends for Life gratefully acknowledges their generosity and support.
Friends for Life has established an advisory committee. This committee is made up of young adults who have inside knowledge of a young adults diagnosed with cancer. This may include, but not limited to, survivors, patients, family member, carers, siblings, friends and health care professionals.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Friends for Life will facilitate a series of seminars and workshops. These are aimed at providing the general public, with information and support from professionals. You can suggest topics that you are interested in, and we can source the speakers.
Friends for Life arranges a day or weekend for young adults diagnosed with cancer and their families and friends to spend quality time together.
Those diagnosed with cancer often report about how fast everything goes from the time of diagnosis to treatment. This is aimed to bring some normality back into their lives and provide the simple things that are often overlooked during this time - a concert, weekend away, sporting event, shopping, pamper sessions, movies - the list is endless.
Friends for Life has relied on the support of our generous supporters and sponsors and now has funding available.
For more information on the funding available, please see the grant application information on our website or contact us.
Seem easy?
It is.
It is bad enough to have to deal with cancer, let alone complicated application forms to access much needed funds.
We have made it as simple as possible.
But if you have any questions, just contact us.
Friends for life relies on the assistance of people who want to help us support young adults living with cancer.

Friends for Life is a non-profit organisation. All funds raised go to supporting young adults living with cancer. All committee members donate their time and are not paid a salary.
All committee members have real jobs but a role on the committee is an immensely rewarding experience, a source of great pride and personal satisfaction, a feeling of giving back to society, of working for a cause and doing something not for money but because it is worthwhile. Such rewards can be hard to come by in other aspects of life.
Friends for Life is searching for suitable committee members. If you have skills and dedication that would be of benefit to us, it would be great to have you! Contact us for more information.
The Friends for Life Advisory Committee works to provide the Committee of Management with direction and advice on behalf of the community, consumers and carers.
The Advisory Committee provides the organisation with valuable knowledge and insight to developing services and improving the patients journey. The Committee provides a 'voice' for young adults with cancer as well as the development and running of Friends for Life.
